Doing things from the heart is a slogan that simply means that you must believe that what you are doing is 100% what you are supposed to do. Knowing what you are called to do in life can be one of the hardest things to identify; but once you do, expect to be a blessing.
Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
The Amplified Bible says it this way, “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.”
Doing things from the heart is directly connected to who you are. What is in you, gives life to those you choose to bless. The word “Heart” comes from the Greek word Psyche, which means life, mind, soul, you. So, in essence, when you give from the heart, you are giving of your life.
This is important to understand because it makes all the difference when you do what you do in life from the heart.
Colossians says that whatever we do, we should do it heartily as unto the Lord, and not unto men. When we give of our gifts and talents to others, we should always have in our minds or hearts we are giving to the Lord.
Matthew 25:40 (KJV)
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
God sees what we do for others as it being done unto Him. Now, if your attitude is wrong in what you do, in some cases, others may not be the wiser. But, you know it, and eventually, others will see it. It is our responsibility to keep our hearts guarded from being weary in doing good.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Faint of heart or emotionally unstable in doing well; no matter what happens in life, good always prevails. When we understand that good is a principle God has set in motion for mankind to abide by, it will impact the lives of people in a positive way.
Doing things from the heart or whole heartedly will result in manifested blessing.
Let’s be like our Heavenly Father and do good things like He has done good things for us.
