Merry Christmas

CHRISTMAS

ISAIAH 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

First of all, Merry Christmas! What a wonderful time of the year. For some reason, during Christmas, there is a different mode in our nation. We are willing to go the extra mile to bring some joy and comfort to our family and friends. With all the issues our country is faced with today, people go out of their way to make it the best they can with what they have to give. In many cases, they make time to give to those who are less fortunate than themselves.

I know this is not the actual time of the year Jesus was born, but we as believers have chosen to honor the Lord’s birthday during this time of the year. As Jesus stated in Matthew 25:40 “in as much as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto Me”. Giving has always been Gods method of showing His love toward mankind. We also have the opportunity to express our appreciation, love, gratefulness, thankfulness, and honor to the one’s we love.

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus, keep in mind the real reason for this season.

There is nothing wrong with the presents that we give to those we love, and for anyone to say otherwise, well, I think of Mr. Scrooge. Always give honor to those you love by some expression, even if it is a card or a note, a call, even a smile goes a long way.

I think that if Jesus were physically here, we would be honoring Him with all we have, just to say Thank You.

We do this by expressing our love to our friends and family, as well as those we may not know. Always have a generous eye in being a blessing to someone else.

Let us remember the reason for this season by acknowledging the Lord Jesus the Christ in our lives individually, and with our family and friends, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL, AND HAVE A BLESSED AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
